From initial development to finding funding, we will work with at every step...
We can help you get solar panels for your school, look after the system, figure out funding options and provide engaging and relevant sustainability education for your students.
You can help reach CO2 national targets by acting locally.
“My advice to heads and principals around the country would be to make sure that this issue is towards the very top of their agenda"
We engage students in the solar development process right from day one.
At no extra cost, we involved the students from the design process, through to the installation and then help them understand the data of their system, and what it means for their school's own carbon footprint and energy bills.
This means students take real ownership of their school’s solar system. Once the solar is working and commissioned, we run lessons and workshops. Not just for the first year, but for the 25 years that that system will last.
Students that learn about decarbonisation can persuade parents and others to take action. Carbon saving can thus be 10x greater than the impact from the solar panels alone.
“There are so many competing demands placed on school leaders but what could be more important - as we move towards the middle part of the 21st century - than equipping our young people, so that they can go into the world and understand the importance of sustaining an environment which will allow them, and future generations, to prosper…?”
With a variety of funding options, we can find the best way for you to fund your solar projects, to make decarbonisation a reality. Systems can be:
a) Funded and owned by the school outright.
b) Funded by not-for-profit community benefit societies, such as the Solar for Schools CBS.
c) Funded through a combination of the two.
These societies are created specifically to support schools, are managed by us but are governed by directors elected by the schools. Any surplus is used for the benefit of the schools.
